IPL Match and Heavy Rains Cause Major Disruptions

Delhi Traffic Police have issued important travel advisories due to the IPL match at Arun Jaitley Stadium and heavy rain causing waterlogging across the city. Commuters are urged to plan ahead and use public transport to avoid long delays.

Traffic near Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium will be heavily affected from 5:30 pm to midnight on May 25, as the Sunrisers Hyderabad face Kolkata Knight Riders. Key roads like Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, JLN Marg, and Asaf Ali Road will see major congestion. Buses and heavy vehicles will be restricted on some routes to ease traffic flow.

Overnight thunderstorms and heavy rains have flooded several areas, causing waterlogging that has led to diversions and traffic jams. The Azad Market underpass is closed in both directions due to flooding, with vehicles rerouted through nearby roads like Barf Khana, Pul Mithai, and Rani Jhansi Road.

Rohtak Road is also facing delays due to waterlogging and ongoing road repairs, affecting traffic in both directions between Rajdhani Park and Mundka. Another flooded area near Jahangirpuri Metro on GTK Road is causing further trouble, with police advising drivers to avoid this stretch and take alternate routes.

Motorists should expect delays and consider using public transport or planning their trips carefully to avoid traffic hassles during this time.
