Preity Zinta Takes Legal Action Against Punjab Kings Co-Owners

Bollywood actress and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has filed a legal case against her fellow co-directors Mohit Burman and Ness Wadia. The issue? A board meeting she claims was conducted without following proper legal rules.

The case was filed in Chandigarh court, challenging the validity of a special general meeting held on April 21. Zinta argues that the meeting broke the Indian Companies Act 2013 and ignored key legal steps. She had already opposed the meeting via email on April 10, but says her objections were ignored.

Preity’s biggest concern is the appointment of Manish Khanna as director, which she says happened without consent. She has asked the court to declare the meeting illegal and stop Khanna from acting as a director.

She also requested that no future board or general meetings be held unless both she and co-director Karan Paul are present. Zinta and Paul were reportedly present at the meeting but disagreed with its decisions.

So far, there has been no response from Burman or Wadia.

Despite the legal drama, Preity Zinta has remained visible in stadiums, cheering for Punjab Kings in every match. Under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy, the team is doing surprisingly well this season.

For the first time since 2014, Punjab Kings have reached the playoffs, currently standing third with 17 points from 12 games. They still have a chance to reach the top two.

Their next matches are:

  • May 24 vs Delhi Capitals in Jaipur
  • May 26 vs Mumbai Indians

Preity Zinta’s legal move may shake the boardroom, but on the field, Punjab Kings are flying high.
