USMNT Announces Squad for June 2025 Friendlies

The United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) has announced its squad for the upcoming June 2025 international friendlies. The team will face Turkey on June 7 and Switzerland on June 10 as preparation for the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Several new faces have been added to the team, while some popular names like Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna, Weston McKennie, Yunus Musah, Tim Weah, and Antonee Robinson have been left out.

Christian Pulisic Requests Summer Break

According to U.S. Soccer, Christian Pulisic personally requested not to participate in the international matches this summer. Sporting Director Matt Crocker confirmed this in an interview with Fox Sports.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who is looking to build a strong team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, had hoped to have Pulisic lead the squad this summer. However, the federation respected the player’s decision to take time off.

USMNT to Prepare for Gold Cup and World Cup 2026

These friendlies will help the USMNT prepare for the Gold Cup group stage, where they will face Trinidad & Tobago, Haiti, and Saudi Arabia later in June.

Coach Pochettino has only a short time to shape the team before the United States hosts the 2026 World Cup, making this summer crucial for testing new talent and building momentum.
